Description:
GMC series Magnetic AC /DC contactors are suitable for using in the
circuits up to rated voltage 660V AC 50/60HZ, rated current up to
800A, for making, breaking, frequently starting & controlling the
AC motor and it can be combined with the auxiliary contacts,
mechanical interlocking unit, switchover capacitor and etc. With
the thermal relay, it is combined into the electromagnetic starter.
The contactor is produced according to IEC947-2, VDE0660 & BS5452.

AC contactor has four main components:
( 1) the electromagnetic system, including the attraction coil, a
movable iron core and the static iron core;
( 2) the contact system, comprising three main contacts and a two
normally open, two auxiliary normally closed contact, it and the
movable iron core is connected together are linked with each other;
( 3) arc extinguishing device of large capacity, general AC
contactor with arc extinguishing device, in order to quickly cut
off the arc, from burning the main contact;
( 4) insulation casing and accessories, all kinds of spring, a
transmission mechanism, a short circuit ring, wiring column.
IEC utilization categories
The current rating of the AC/DC contactor depends on utilization
category. Example IEC categories in standard 60947 are described
as:
AC-1 - Non-inductive or slightly inductive loads, resistance
furnaces
AC-2 - Starting of slip-ring motors: starting, switching-off
AC-3 - Starting of squirrel-cage motors and switching-off only
after the motor is up to speed. (Make Locked Rotor Amps (LRA),
Break Full Load Amps (FLA))
AC-4 - Starting of squirrel-cage motors with inching and plugging
duty. Rapid Start/Stop. (Make and Break LRA)
Normal working conditions and installation conditions
1. Surrounding air environment is from -5 to +50 degrees Celsius.
2. Altitude does not exceed 2000m.
3. The tilt with the vertical is not more than 5 degrees.
4. The pollution degree of installation sites is level 3.
5. Installation category is class II.
6. No space of significant shake and shock and vibration.
